Types of Tests Offered by Walk-in Lab

Walk-In Lab offers more than 20 tests for users to choose from. It offers blood and urine tests used to detect substances in the body. These can help you to be aware of your health. Let’s take a look at some tests offered by Walk-In Lab.

Drug Abuse Profile Urine Test

This test checks for 7 common drugs and alcohol in your body. This test is done using your urine sample. The drug testing can detect drugs going back several days, but this is affected by other factors. This test may also be called Seven Drugs Plus Ethanol or Drug Abuse Panel 7-50 plus Ethanol, with Confirmation. The drugs tested include amphetamines, Barbiturates, Benzodiazepines (valium, Xanax), Cannabinoids (marijuana), Cocaine, Opiates (codeine, morphine), Phencyclidine (PCP) and alcohol.

Cannabinoid Confirmation Urine Test

This is a urine test used to detect cannabinoids such as CBD and THC in the body. It shows the use of marijuana, cannabis, or weed. There is no special preparation required from the person doing the test. This test takes 3-5 days for you to get the test results back.

This cannabinoid (marijuana) confirmation urine test has a low cut off of 15ng/mL. This means that 15 nanograms of THC in one milliliter of urine will bring back a positive drug test. Other urine drug tests have a cut off of 50ng/mL.

Nicotine and Metabolite Urine Test

This is a test to detect nicotine use using urine samples. Metabolite is the primary breakdown product of nicotine. It can be detected in blood, urine, saliva, and hair. The nicotine and metabolite test detects nicotine-1′-N-oxide, trans-3′-hydroxycotinine, or nornicotine, or other tobacco chemicals, such as anabasine in urine.

How to Pass a Drug Test

Drug tests are easy to pass if you haven't been in contact with psychoactive substances like THC. However, people who use marijuana or CBD hemp to cope with anxiety, depression, or chronic pain will need to prepare before taking a drug test. Let's take a look at some of the most common drug test methods:

Urine Test

A urine test will detect THC in your urine. The unit of measurement used is ng/mL nanograms per milliliter. The most common urine analysis test for 50 ng/mL, meaning 50 nanograms of THC per milliliter. If you have more than 50ng/mL, then your test will come back positive.

There are two types of urine tests used for testing THC. The most common is an immunoassay, which is cheaper and offers quick results. However, this means that it may return false positives.

If you get a positive drug test, you will be subject to the second type of urine test, the gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) test. This test is more accurate, expensive, and takes a while to return results.

Blood Test

THC can be detected in your blood for up to 2 months after smoking or dabbing. If you took a small puff that one time with your friends, then it will remain in your blood for up to 7 days. Blood tests are the most effective test for THC.

THC enters your blood almost immediately after you smoke marijuana. The only way to flush THC from your blood is by natural detoxing. Detox drinks will not flush the blood – only urine.

Hair Test

THC can be detected on your hair as far back as 90 days. However, this test is not accurate for detecting recent use. THC shows up on your hair after a week or more. Hair grows at a rate of half an inch per month. Therefore, a hair test will analyze the first inch and a half from your scalp.

Saliva Test

A mouth swab or saliva test is also used to quickly detect marijuana use. It is more commonly used by law enforcement to detect whether a driver is driving under the influence. It is quick and will only determine recent use.

How to Pass a THC Test

Drugs like cannabis leave THC compounds in fat cells that are transferred to your urine, blood, saliva and hair. You can see how it is difficult to flush the compound out of all these bodily fluids. However, there are some methods to help you get rid of drug compounds in your body. Let’s take a look.

Natural Cleanse

The body naturally gets rid of THC as time goes by. But to speed up  this process, people will drink more water, eat clean, and work out more to remove THC from their bodies in 30 to 60 days. In this method, your body naturally eliminates THC from urine, blood, hair, and saliva.

This method has varied results for different people. It depends on your BMI (Body Mass Index), metabolism, and THC amount in your body. Some people have reported that it takes almost 90 days for THC to leave their system altogether. This method requires that you stay away from consuming any more THC, not even a puff of weed.

Detox Kits

A detox kit helps to flush your body of THC. These kits make sure to permanently flush THC from your body. This means that until you consume THC again, your body will be free of any THC.

These kits usually contain herbal supplements that boost your body’s detoxification process. They need to be taken for 5 to 10 days for you to see a difference. It is ideal for people who know when their drug test is.

Among the types of detox, kits include full body detox or detox shampoos. Some drug tests use hair for testing, and the shampoo can help with that. Otherwise, a whole-body detox will pair well with drinking a lot of water, eating fruits and vegetables, and making sure to get enough exercise in.

Detox Drinks

Detox drinks target urine tests. They quicken the body’s natural detoxification process. Some of these drinks are same-day drinks that can help you if you have a test in a matter of hours or days. They flush your body and urine of THC and other drug substances for a few hours.

One of the drawbacks of using this method is that it may strip your urine of critical natural components, causing your urine to look like it was tampered with. Urine will usually have a specific color and temperature. It will also contain creatine, uric acid, and pH levels that need to seem normal for you to pass a urine test.

Home Remedies

There are some home remedies that will help you pass a THC test. Using natural foods like cranberry, lemon juice, and apple cider vinegar have been used to help flush the body of THC. However, these natural remedies are known to only mask the presence of THC – it won’t register as strongly as if you didn’t take them.

The best way to prepare for a drug test is to give your body enough time to flush the drug components from your entire system, including hair, saliva, urine, and blood.
