Best Organic Recipes To Rid Marijuana Plants of Mildew

If you are a grower of weed, there are some good organic recipes to get rid of marijuana plants that show signs of mildew. If you are concerned about this, then we have some good tips for you. First of all, if you don’t know this already, you have to be able to prevent powdery mildew from your cannabis grow garden so you can have a better yield.

If your location is susceptible to powdery mildew on your marijuana plants, then you have to find ways that you can prevent this. First, you have to learn how to prevent it and then how to rid your marijuana plants of mildew using organic techniques.

In so doing, you will find that your plants would then have minimal invasion of mildew. The best thing is to find preventative measures and implement them so as to have success over getting rid of the mildew. Let’s discuss.

The Microbes

If you don’t know what beneficial microbes are, these are important in maintaining a healthy root zone. In other words, you will use techniques to ensure that your plant’s roots are in the best condition. When your marijuana plants are healthy, they will stave off all types of pathogens. And more importantly, you will place the beneficial microbes in the exact location where the plants are attacked by the powdery mildew.

Make sure that you put the microbes on the flowers, stems and leaves. One of the beneficial microbe techniques that we recommend is use of the diluted compost tea.

What this does is to shield your marijuana plants by giving them a rich and diversified ecosystem of fungi, bacteria and other beneficial microbes. Your marijuana plants will have a barrier with the diluted compost tea to prevent them from being infected with other pathogenic microbes.

Liquid Hand Soap

Believe it or not, liquid hand soap is another good solution to keeping your marijuana plants from being invaded by powdery mildew.

But, be sure that the soap is mild and contains no phosphates, ammonia or chlorine. Using liquid soap is a simple way for the plants to react as a surfactant where it evenly spreads fungicidal agents over the various surfaces of the plants.

You don’t have to buy liquid hand soap. You can actually make your own at home because then you would be sure that it is organic. However, there are places online and locally where you can buy organic liquid soap. You just have to search and make sure that is what you are getting.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is a sodium bicarbonate that has an alkaline value of pH9. When you apply this on your marijuana plant leaves, it changes the pH value to roughly 7 or 8. In other words, mildews or mold are not tolerated when the pH value is at a certain level. That is why it is important to apply baking soda on a regular basis so you can prevent powdery mildew and mold.

However, this method only works for marijuana plants that are not yet heavily infected with mildew. To get the basic recipe, you should combine 1.5 tablespoons of baking soda with one gallon of liquid soap and water. Fill a spray bottle with the solution and apply to the marijuana plants every other day.

Garlic

Garlic contains sulfur and that is why it is good to stop the germination of fungal spores on your marijuana plants. Garlic is typically used when you want to prevent mildew from infecting your plant.

Peel the head of the three whole garlic and then blend with just a few drops of liquid soap and a quart of water. Strain it and then blend it again until it is full liquefied. Put in a spray bottle and apply to marijuana plants twice per week.

Final Thoughts

Other things that you can use on your marijuana plants to get rid of mildew are potassium bicarbonate and neem oil. However, no matter what you use, it is best that you are consistent with this and pay attention to your marijuana plants as if they are your children.
