The Microbes
If you don't know what beneficial microbes are, these are important in maintaining a healthy root zone. In other words, you will use techniques to ensure that your plant's roots are in the best condition. When your marijuana plants are healthy, they will stave off all types of pathogens. And more importantly, you will place the beneficial microbes in the exact location where the plants are attacked by the powdery mildew.

Baking Soda
Baking soda is a sodium bicarbonate that has an alkaline value of pH9. When you apply this on your marijuana plant leaves, it changes the pH value to roughly 7 or 8. In other words, mildews or mold are not tolerated when the pH value is at a certain level. That is why it is important to apply baking soda on a regular basis so you can prevent powdery mildew and mold.
However, this method only works for marijuana plants that are not yet heavily infected with mildew. To get the basic recipe, you should combine 1.5 tablespoons of baking soda with one gallon of liquid soap and water. Fill a spray bottle with the solution and apply to the marijuana plants every other day.
Garlic
Garlic contains sulfur and that is why it is good to stop the germination of fungal spores on your marijuana plants. Garlic is typically used when you want to prevent mildew from infecting your plant.
Peel the head of the three whole garlic and then blend with just a few drops of liquid soap and a quart of water. Strain it and then blend it again until it is full liquefied. Put in a spray bottle and apply to marijuana plants twice per week.
