The Plant

Cannabis is also called marijuana, pot, weed, green stuff, Mary Jane and you name it. But, in this case, we are going to stick with cannabis. The plant contains both CBD and THC. The CBD does not alter the mind, but the THC does. The higher the potency level, the more the impact will be. The CBD has a lot of medicinal and therapeutic benefits.

THC is psychoactive and mind altering. Other compounds provide the user with improved appetite and treatment for certain symptoms such as nausea and chronic pain; just to name a few.

The Positive and Negative

The cannabis plant has several positive effects such as reducing nausea, improved appetite, laughter, muscle relaxation and euphoric feelings. There are not many negative effects, except when you overdo it. If you overdose on marijuana, you will tend to have feelings of paranoia.

You might have short term lapse in memory, intense sleepiness and some fatigue. But, all of these feelings will pass within one hour or an hour and a half. The negative impact does not happen often and you can control it yourself.

Dealing With The Negative

You may be wondering how you can handle the negative impact. For one, as suggested above, you can control the dosage, especially if you are consuming edibles or weed with a high THC level. Make sure that you have food in your stomach prior to consuming any form of weed; not matter the CBD or THC level.

If you find yourself being overly sleepy after a bout of marijuana smoking, just go to sleep and you should be fin when you wake up. It all depends on how much you have consumed. Just be wise and careful, especially if you are new at this.

Different Methods of Consumption

You can consume the cannabis plant in various ways that you probably did not yet know about. Well, of course, you know that most people consume weed by smoking a joint or using a vape pen. There are others that don't like to smoke, but prefer to consume edibles or infused beverages.

Some people are into cannabis concentrates such as tinctures, shatter or waxes. And there are those that prefer the oil extracted from the cannabis plant. You get to choose the method that is best for you. If you need to relieve any type of skin condition, you would consider topical creams made out of the cannabis plant.

The Medical Marijuana Card

If you live in a state where the cannabis plant is legal and you have a qualifying medical condition, you might want to think about getting a medical marijuana card. Every state has its own laws about which medical condition qualifies for medical marijuana.

So make sure to check with the state laws first before applying for a card. Usually, though, most of the medical disorders that qualify are PTSD, chronic pain, epilepsy, glaucoma, and certain kinds of cancer, multiple sclerosis, AIDs, Parkinson's disorder, HIV and Crohn's disease.
